There was tension in Sundimina community of Birnin Kudu LGA of Jigawa State after operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) killed one Murtala Gambo during a night operation.
Residents said the incident occurred on Friday when the NDLEA patrol team arrived the community for midnight operation and opened fire on the victim.
A witness, Musa Danburga, told reporters that he was frightened when he saw the NDLEA operatives because he could not ascertain their true identity.

He added that, “The victim was shot on the back and was running towards me while I was shouting ‘thief’.’’
The residents have said the state command of the agency was not forthcoming on the development.
The deputy commander of the agency in the state, Mr. H. Ugwoke, told reporters that the information he had was sketchy, and promised to get back when more details were available.
