Tension in Ondo community as gunmen abduct 67-year-old Imam
Residents of Uso community in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State have been thrown into confusion over the abduction of their Chief Imam, Alhaji Ibrahim Oyinlade.
Gunmen on Saturday afternoon reportedly invaded the Imam’s farm at Uso, seized him and whisked him away into the forest.
Oyinlade, 67, was said to have left for the farm located at Asolo Farm Camp around 3pm.
The kidnappers, however, had contacted the family of the Chief Imam, confirming that the cleric is in their custody.
A family member confirmed that the kidnappers had contacted the family but had yet to demand ransom.
A police officer in the town said they are on the trail of the criminals.
