Three killed, 19 injured as explosion rocks Taraba community

There was an explosion in a Taraba community on Tuesday, killing three people with nineteen others injured.

The explosion occurred around a pub (drinking spot) at Iware in the Ardo Kola Local Government Area.

The bomber was reportedly accompanied by another who disguised as a customer to the pub.

The explosive was said to have been hidden in a black polythene bag and carefully dropped on the drinking spot by the bomber before leaving the bar.

After they were served the one holding the poly bag containing the bomb reportedly dropped his beer and the polythene bag and left.

The accomplice also said he was going to look for his friend and would come back.

A source said after he had also left, the bomb exploded and many people were injured while some others were killed.

Confirming the incident, the spokesman for Taraba State Police Command said three persons were killed while 19 others were injured.

One of the bombers was said to have been apprehended and killed by a mob.
