TikTok Star Peller Apologizes After Arrest for Reckless Driving, Attempted Suicide in Lagos
Popular TikTok influencer Peller has broken his silence following his arrest and detention by the Lagos State Police Command over reckless driving and an attempted suicide incident.
In a video message, Peller apologised to Nigerians, saying: “I am sorry, Nigerians. Please, I’m sorry. I will never do that again. I’m very sorry, please. For now, I am on medication. Once I am done with my medication, I will be online.”
The incident, which occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025, involved Peller driving recklessly along the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos while live-streaming the act on social media, resulting in a serious road crash. Authorities said his actions endangered the lives of other road users.

Peller’s behaviour has been linked to his recent breakup with his girlfriend, Jarvis, who cited his struggles with emotional regulation as a major reason for ending the relationship.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed Peller’s arrest and stated that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation. He is expected to face charges in court.
Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, has warned social media influencers and content creators against promoting reckless behavior online, emphasizing that lawlessness will not be tolerated.
The incident has sparked conversations about the responsibilities of social media influencers and the dangers of live-streaming reckless acts, highlighting the need for accountability on digital platforms.
