Tinubu Celebrates Super Eagles’ Bronze Finish at AFCON 2025

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Eagles on their bronze medal finish at the AFCON 2025, praising the players and coaching crew for their resilience and commitment to national pride.

In a statement issued by the Presidency, Tinubu described the Super Eagles’ performance at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco as inspiring, noting that the team bounced back from a painful semi-final exit to secure victory in the third-place match against Egypt.

According to the President, the Super Eagles once again succeeded in uniting Nigerians across social, ethnic and religious lines through their performances on the continental stage.

“The Super Eagles demonstrated courage, discipline and belief by finishing strong at AFCON 2025. Your bronze medal is a worthy achievement that has lifted the spirit of the nation,” Tinubu said.

The President also commended the technical crew for their tactical discipline and player management throughout the tournament, despite intense competition from top African sides.

Nigeria Turns Focus to 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

With AFCON 2025 concluded, attention is now shifting to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where the Super Eagles will seek to build on the momentum gained in Morocco.

Football analysts have urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to strengthen the squad by blending experienced stars with emerging talents, while also improving domestic football development to sustain international success.

As celebrations continue, President Tinubu called on Nigerians to keep backing the team, expressing optimism that the Super Eagles will deliver greater achievements on the African and global stages.
