Tinubu in bilateral talks with UK, US, Saudi Arabia envoys
Envoys of the United Kingdom, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Brazil and South Korea among others on Monday held bilateral talks with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on improved relations with their countries.
The envoys were at the State House in Abuja to deliver the letters of support, goodwill and solidarity messages from their home governments to Tinubu.
This came after the envoys and heads of missions of those countries witnessed Tinubu’s inauguration as the 16th Nigerian leader.
Messages were delivered also from Japan, South Korea, Israel, Cape Verde, Somalia and Nicaragua.
Congratulating Tinubu, the new UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery, presented letters from British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, King Charles and Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.
The US delegation led by Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Marcia L. Fudge, paid a courtesy call on President Tinubu and had a brief bilateral discussion with him.
Delegation from South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol to Tinubu requested the Nigerian President to visit their country soon and sought increase relations between the two countries.
The Saudi Arabian delegation delivered a message from the Saudi Royal House to the Nigerian president.
A special envoy of the Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida equally paid a call on President Tinubu and extended a hand of support and fellowship.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a delegation which met with Tinubu and expressed willingness to work with the country in the area of fin-tech.
