Tinubu introduces cost-cutting measures, limits convoys for federal officials
In a move to reduce government expenditure, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has introduced new cost-cutting measures limiting Federal Ministers, Ministers of State, and Heads of Agencies to a maximum of three vehicles in their official convoys.
This directive was outlined in a statement personally signed by the President.
The new guidelines also set a cap on security personnel for these officials, limiting them to five officers—four from the police and one from the Department of State Services (DSS).
The initiative is aimed at streamlining government operations, curbing excessive spending, and promoting more efficient use of resources during official travel.
“He similarly reduced the Vice President’s entourage to five officials on foreign trips and 15 for local trips.

“President Tinubu instructed the National Security Adviser to engage with the Military, Paramilitary and Security Agencies to determine a suitable reduction in their vehicle and security personnel deployment.
