Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has met with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State in London.
Tinubu was said to have met with Wike alongside Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, all three governors on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party.
Though it was widely reported in some online media that the meeting held in France, Vanguard in its report stated that the event happened in London.
The governors reportedly left Nigeria to meet with Tinubu on Monday night.
Governors Ortom and Makinde have remained close allies of Wike.
The Vanguard report stated that although details of the meeting were yet to be ascertained, it was reportedly about the prospect of Wike giving support for Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.
Wike has been widely speculated to leave the PDP, after his fallout with Abubakar Atiku, who defeated him to clinch the PDP ticket in May.
Since Wike lost the PDP presidential primaries to Atiku he has been throwing jibes at Atiku and other top ranking members of the party.
