Tinubu meets with Wike, el-Rufai in Aso Rock
President Bola Tinubu has met with former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, and ex-governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The two former governors are ministerial nominees.
However, while Wike was screened and confirmed by the Senate, it did not confirm el-Rufai due to an alleged security report.
The former governors reportedly arrived at the State House separately.
While Wike came at about 1:40pm, el-Rufai entered the presidential wing of Aso Rock at 2pm.
Vanguard reported a source at the Presidential Villa as saying that efforts were being made to get the Senate to confirm el-Rufai.
