Tinubu mourns renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Muhyideen Bello

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Sheikh Muhyideen Ajani Bello, an esteemed Islamic scholar revered for his wisdom and dedication to the Muslim faith.

Sheikh Bello, who died at the age of 84, left behind a legacy of deep spiritual insight and commitment to humanity.

In a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Sheikh Bello as a man of remarkable intellect and spiritual depth, whose life was devoted to serving Allah and spreading the teachings of the Holy Quran.

The President highlighted the late scholar’s ability to provide peace and guidance through his unique interpretation of Islamic teachings, which resonated with Muslims across Nigeria and beyond.

“Sheikh Bello’s early discovery of his divine purpose and his dedication to prayers, study, and meditation profoundly shaped his message and influenced the destinies of countless individuals,” the President noted.

Acknowledging Sheikh Bello’s lifelong advocacy for charity, peace, and social harmony, President Tinubu praised the cleric’s unwavering counsel to leaders, urging trust, honesty, and fairness as essential pillars of governance.

The President offered prayers for the repose of Sheikh Bello’s soul and extended his condolences to the cleric’s family and the wider Muslim community.

He called on Nigerians to honor the late scholar’s legacy by embodying the principles of justice, compassion, and spiritual devotion that defined his life.

President Tinubu also urged reflection on Sheikh Bello’s enduring message of faith and unity.
