Tinubu praises Buhari as rarest virtuous servant leader on 81st birthday
President Bola Tinubu has praised former President Muhammadu Buhari, his predecessor in office, on his 81st birthday.
He described Buhari as a truly and undiluted man of integrity and a rarest virtuous servant leader.
The birthday message is contained in a statement issued on Saturday by Ajuri Ngelale, presidential spokesperson. Tinubu said Buhari remains his friend and an icon of truth, justice, and patriotism.
He thanked Buhari for his service to the nation at various times as head of state and as president.
The President also celebrated his predecessor for establishing infrastructural feats and creating “Nigeria’s first ever national social investment and protection programme.”
The statement read in part, “President Buhari is from the rarest phylum of virtuous servant-leaders. He has devoted his life to the service of the nation, even earning himself detention for his patriotism and service to our Fatherland.
“The emergence of leaders like my good friend, Buhari, happens only by divine orchestration. He is a man of absolute and undiluted integrity. His yea is yea, and his nay is nay.”
Tinubu also appreciated the former President for his friendship and vote of confidence shown through his support for the current administration.
