Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has won the gold medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Englang.
Amusan, currently reigning world champion and CWG record holder defended her title Sunday morning at the Alexander Stadium.
She finished the race in 12.30 seconds to set a new record of the games.
Devynne Charlton of Barbados claimed the silver medal while England’s Cindy Sember finished 3rd to clinch the bronze.
Nigeria has now secured 31 medals — 10 gold, eight silver, and 13 bronze — at the ongoing Commonwealth Games.
Last month, at the World Athletic Championship, Amusan broke the hurdles record in the semi-finals in 12.12s.
The 25-year-old became the first Nigerian to win a gold medal at the championship with a spirited display in Eugene, Oregon.
Amusan is now the first and only Nigerian to be crowned African, Commonwealth and World champion in the same year.
