Tribunal affirms Diri’s election as Bayelsa governor
The Bayelsa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Abuja, has upheld the election of Governor Douye Diri.
The tribunal dismissed the petition filed by Timipre Sylva, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the party, as lacking in merit.
Justice Adekunle Adeleye-led three-member tribunal delivered a unanimous decision, stating that the petitioners failed to provide credible evidence to support their allegations against Diri’s re-election.
