Troops arrest suspected terror logistics supplier, seize smoked fish consignment in Borno
Troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North-East Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a suspected terrorist logistics supplier and 21 others allegedly involved in transporting large quantities of smoked fish believed to support insurgent activities in Borno State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the operation was carried out around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday by soldiers of the 112 Task Force Battalion under the 24 Task Force Brigade at Checkpoint 2 in Mafa Local Government Area.

The primary suspect, identified as 40-year-old Ibrahim Buka, was apprehended alongside the group while conveying 59 cartons and 28 sacks of smoked fish in two Isuzu trucks.
“Preliminary interrogation revealed that the smoked fish was handed over to them in Laje village by terrorists,” the report noted.
Sources added that Buka confessed to routinely supplying various items to insurgents. Hybrid forces present at the checkpoint also confirmed he had previously served as their supplier while he operated within the bushes.
All arrested individuals, along with the seized items, have been transferred to security authorities for further investigation.
