Troops Foil Boko Haram Attack
Troops avert Boko Haram bomb attack on Borno bridge
Nigerian Army troops have successfully intercepted Boko Haram terrorists attempting to plant improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on a strategic bridge along the Dikwa–Marte road in Borno State.
The attempted attack triggered a fierce gun battle between the terrorists and troops under the Northeast Joint Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai. During the operation, the soldiers recovered two heavy IEDs, effectively neutralizing the threat.
Speaking with Channels Television, the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Abdulsallam Abubakar, said, “Within the past week, troops conducted clearance operations deep into the Lake Chad region, Sambisa Forest, and the Mandara Mountains.”
