Troops chase gunmen out of Kaduna town

Some gunmen, who plotted to attack residents of Zango Urban District of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna state were overpowered by the military on Monday night.

Mallam Isa Tela, a resident of Zango town, who spoke with Daily Trust, said the people were going about their activities after Isha’i prayer, around 8:00pm, when they started hearing gunshots.

He said this created tension as the armed men surrounded the town.

“The gunshots started around 8:00pm somewhere around the town’s filling station before they surrounded the town from all angles before the military intervened and dispersed the attackers.”

He said there is no any reported case of death or a casual from the attack at the time of filing this report.

Daily Trust reports that eight people were killed in multiple attacks on Zangon Kataf communities last week.
