Troops gun down wanted terrorist leader, Abu Mosaje
The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) announced on Friday that troops have eliminated a notorious terrorist commander and arms dealer, Abu Mosaje, in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Three other suspected gunrunners were also arrested during operations in Plateau and Kaduna States.
In a statement, Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, revealed that the troops apprehended a wanted kidnapping mastermind, Babangida Gora Usman, in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Additionally, troops detained another alleged infamous arms dealer, Timothy Yusuf, along with his son, Timothy Obadiah.

Meanwhile, in the South-East region, seven members of the proscribed IPOB/ESN group, including a well-known kidnapper and informants, were arrested in Enugu North and Ehime Mbano Local Government Areas of Enugu and Imo States, respectively.
Over the past week, security operations have resulted in the neutralization of 79 terrorists, the capture of 224 suspects, and the rescue of 67 hostages, according to the Defence Headquarters.
The statement further disclosed that troops arrested 28 individuals involved in oil theft and recovered stolen petroleum products valued at ₦747,070,710. They also dismantled 42 illegal refineries, destroyed 215 crude oil cooking ovens, and seized multiple vehicles, motorcycles, and weapons used for criminal activities.
Among the seized items were 842,685 liters of stolen crude oil, 12,340 liters of illegally refined diesel, and 200 liters of dual-purpose kerosene. Troops also recovered 104 assorted firearms, including 53 AK-47 rifles, and nearly 2,000 rounds of ammunition.
Major General Buba reiterated that troops across all operational theaters remain committed to curbing criminal activities and ensuring the safety of citizens.
