Troops kill terrorists, capture weapons in Zamfara
Troops engaged in Operation Fasan Yamma, targeting cross-border terrorists and bandits in Zamfara, have neutralized two terrorists following a fierce shootout.
Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, the Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, made this announcement on Thursday.
He stated, “Troops from the Forward Operating Base Anka, under 1 Brigade in the Joint Task Force North West, collaborated with the Zamfara State Community Protection Guard (ZSCPG) and local vigilantes to conduct a fighting patrol to Bambaran Village, Anka Local Government Area. During the operation, they encountered terrorists.”

“As a result, two terrorists were neutralized, and several items were recovered, including a PKT machine gun, an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and three rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.”
This successful operation highlights the ongoing collaboration between the military and other security forces in the Operation Fasan Yamma Theatre, reinforcing their commitment to ensuring safety within Zamfara and the broader North West region.
“Operation Fasan Yamma remains focused on eliminating threats to peace and stability in the North West and is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of residents as operations continue,” Abdullahi added.
