Troops of the 26 Task Force Brigade in Gwoza of Borno State have rescued another Chibok girl about seven years after she was kidnapped along with her school mates by Boko Haram.
Commander of the task force, D.R. Dantani, on Saturday handed over the rescued girl, Hassana Adamu, with her two children to Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum.
On April 14, 2014, over 200 schoolgirls were abducted when Boko Haram attacked Government Girls’ Secondary School (GGSS) in Chibok.
At least 103 girls have so far been rescued in the last seven years
This is coming a week after Governor Zulum received Ruth Nglari Apagu, one of the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls, and reunited her with her parents.
Ruth was married to a Boko Haram fighter and returned with two children she had while in captivity.
She and her husband had surrendered to Nigerian troops on July 28 at a location in Bama.
In January, Hauwa Halim Maiyanga, one of the abducted schoolgirls, was also rescued.
The abduction of the girls in 2014 was followed by a global outcry that birthed the #BringBackOurGirls movement.
Meanwhile, the federal government says it has continued with its efforts to rescue the remaining girls.
