US President Donald Trump and Former President Barack Obama
Trump Calls for Obama’s Arrest in Renewed Post-Election Tirade
US President Donald Trump has renewed attacks on former President Barack Obama, openly calling for his arrest in a fresh post-election rant shared on his social media platform, Truth Social.
In a series of posts made in the early hours of the day, Trump reposted messages demanding that Obama be arrested, accusing him and senior officials of his administration of orchestrating what he described as a conspiracy tied to past US elections.
The posts, which included phrases such as “ARREST OBAMA NOW,” revisited Trump’s long-standing claims that the Obama administration abused intelligence agencies to undermine his political rise, particularly around the 2016 presidential election and investigations into alleged Russian interference.

Trump linked his renewed demands to recently resurfaced documents and claims by political allies, which he argues prove misconduct by Obama-era officials. He alleged that these actions amounted to treason and insisted that accountability was overdue, despite the absence of any formal charges or legal proceedings against the former president.
The latest outburst follows Trump’s continued rejection of past election outcomes and forms part of a broader post-election narrative in which he maintains that US democratic processes were manipulated against him.
Political analysts note that Trump has repeatedly used social media to amplify unverified claims and attack political opponents, especially during periods of heightened political tension. Legal experts, however, have consistently stated that there is no legal basis for Trump’s calls, and that former presidents are protected by constitutional processes unless formally charged following due investigation.
Obama has not responded publicly to the latest remarks, while the White House and federal law enforcement agencies have issued no statements suggesting any action against the former president.
The renewed attacks are already fueling intense debate across the US political landscape, raising concerns about escalating rhetoric and its impact on public trust in democratic institutions.
