Trump raises $7.1 million since Atlanta jail booking, campaign – Spokesman
Former President Donald Trump has raised nearly $20 million in the past three weeks, coinciding with his indictment in federal and state cases related to his false claims that the 2020 election was rigged, his campaign spokesman said on Saturday.
Steven Cheung, Trump’s spokesman, said on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that the former president brought in $7.1 million since Thursday, when he was processed at a jail in Atlanta, Georgia, in connection with a racketeering and fraud case.
Cheung said that Friday was the highest-grossing day of Trump’s campaign so far, with $4.18 million in donations.
The campaign spokesman suggested that Trump’s legal troubles have galvanized his supporters and boosted his fundraising efforts.
Trump, who lost the 2020 election to Democrat Joe Biden, is seeking the Republican Party’s nomination for president again in 2024.
Trump’s mug shot, which was posted by a Georgia courthouse on Thursday evening, has become an internet sensation, with friends and foes alike turning it into various merchandise and memes.
The mug shot shows Trump with a red tie, slicked-back hair, and a stern expression.

It was taken as the Republican presidential front-runner was arrested on 14 felony charges, stemming from his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia.
The charges include conspiracy to commit racketeering, solicitation of election fraud, making false statements to state officials, and tampering with evidence.
Trump has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has called them politically motivated.
The Georgia case is one of four indictments that Trump is currently facing, all of which are linked to his baseless allegations that the 2020 election was stolen from him and his followers.
On Aug. 3, Trump pleaded not guilty to charges brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith in federal court in Washington, D.C., that he conspired to defraud the United States by preventing Congress from certifying Biden’s 2020 election victory over him and by depriving voters of their right to a fair election.
The charges are related to the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol by a mob of Trump supporters, who stormed the building in an attempt to stop the certification process.
Trump has also pleaded not guilty to charges of unlawfully keeping classified documents after leaving office, which were filed by a federal grand jury in Virginia on July 27.
The charges allege that Trump failed to return or destroy classified information that he had access to as president, and that he shared some of it with unauthorized persons.
Additionally, Trump has pleaded not guilty to charges of falsifying business records in a case in New York related to the payment of so-called hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election.
The charges were filed by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. on June 30, after a long-running investigation into Trump’s business dealings.
The charges accuse Trump of directing his former lawyer Michael Cohen to pay $130,000 to Daniels in exchange for her silence about an alleged affair with Trump.
