Trump rejects Israeli request to assassinate Iran’s Supreme leader, Khamenei
President Donald Trump has reportedly rejected a proposal from Israel to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, according to two U.S. officials who spoke with ABC News.
The officials said Israel informed Washington that it had an opportunity to eliminate Khamenei, but Trump chose not to support the plan.
It remains unclear whether Trump communicated his decision directly to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

During an interview with Fox News on Sunday, Netanyahu was questioned about the report first published by Reuters.
“There’s so many false reports of conversations that never happened and I’m not going to get into that. But I can tell you I think we do what we need to do, we’ll do what we need to do and the United States knows what is good for the United States and I’m just not going to get into it all that,” Netanyahu said.
The White House has declined to comment on the matter.
