Uber driver commits suicide in Osun
In a heart-wrenching incident, a 46-year-old Uber driver, Muftau Abiodun Musa, has reportedly taken his own life in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State.
Sources close to the deceased suggest that prolonged family pressure to get married may have contributed to his tragic decision.
According to reports, Musa left a note instructing whoever found his remains to access his phone for further details. In the note, he emphasized that his family could be contacted freely and requested that no one mourn his passing.
Musa, who had neither a wife nor children, had been battling depression for five years. The source disclosed that his struggles with mental health were compounded by repeated family expectations that he settle down and start a family.

This was not his first attempt at ending his life. In December 2023, Musa reportedly tried to hang himself but was saved by neighbors. Shortly after, he attempted suicide again by consuming insecticide and pesticide, which resulted in a two-month hospital stay.
Following his recovery, Musa moved in with his mother for closer supervision. However, his family’s unrelenting demands for him to marry and have children reportedly became overwhelming, leading him to leave the house.
According to the source: “In his quest for a new house, someone sublet one of the rooms in her home to him. He has been in that house since May 2024.
“The house rent expired in December, but he was given until the end of January to vacate, as the house owner wanted to renovate the house.
“The person who sublet the house told him three days ago to find another house, as the owner had told them to leave. He became depressed and hanged himself.”
The source revealed that the Osun State Police Command has taken over the matter.
