UNILAG student set to sing for 120 hours to break world record
A student at the University of Lagos, Rhema Joseph Ahonis, is set to begin his quest to set a new Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest singing marathon by an individual.
Ahonis took to his social media earlier in November to announce the attempt.
The 27-year-old student disclosed that he will commence the five-day attempt on Saturday, November 25 at LAMP Studio in UNILAG, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos.
The attempt is expected to end on November 30.
The 200-level Theatre Arts student, who doubles as a gospel singer, also called on Nigerians to support him.

Ahonis is seeking to break the world record set by India’s Sunil Waghmare 11 years ago.
Waghmare, who is from Nagpur, sang for 105 hours — from March 3 to 7, 2012.
“The record attempt started at 11.06 am on 3 March, with a variety of popular Indian songs being sung. No song was repeated within a 4 hour period,” the prestigious British reference book wrote.
“The attempt ended on the evening of 7 March after which Mr Waghmare joined in with a sing song with his supporters.”
It remains to be seen if the Nigerian student has officially informed the GWR about his record attempt.
Ahonis also joins the growing list of Nigerians who have attempted to set new world records since the beginning of 2023.
