A container fell on a bus carrying passengers in the Ojuelagba area of Lagos State, killing eight people (six adults and two children).
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) confirmed this in a statement on Sunday, adding that the bus was picking up passengers when the truck driver lost control and crashed over the edge of the bridge.

It said in a statement, “Further investigations revealed that the bus was picking up passengers when the truck lost control and fell over the side of the bridge. After suspending the container load with the aid of the agency’s forklift, and cutting off the top of the bus with light rescue equipment, a single adult woman was extricated alive and taken to the trauma centre.”
But several social media sources had earlier said the container fell as the trailer attempted to keep the yellow bus from overtaking it.
