Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has cast his vote at polling unit 19 in the Agulu area of the Aniocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Obi and his wife Margaret cast their votes around 11.45am on Saturday after following the voting queue for about 30 minutes.
He spoke with reporters after voting, saying the process was “seamless”.
He explained that he had to join the voters queue and waited for his turn because it was the right thing to do, adding that there is no ‘bigman’ in the village.
Asked if he would be willing to work with the opposition if should he lose the election.
He said, “No, it won’t come to that, but I am not looking for a job. I am a very contented person.
“I want to show compassion. I want to help pull people out of poverty.”
Obi said God made him governor of Anambra and could also make him the President of Nigeria.
Obi is one of the leading candidates in the race for Aso Rock.
The former Anambra governor’s major contenders are Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
