Tinubu returns to Nigeria
Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has returned to Nigeria, 12 days after a trip to the United Kingdom.
Tinubu, who left the country on September 24, returned on Thursday evening through the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
While he was away, there were concerns raised about his whereabouts, especially after he missed the signing of the peace accord for the 2023 elections.
Indeed, there were rumours that he was sick, prompting his aides to release photos and videos including engaging in spin-cycling and reading a newspaper.
Tinubu’s campaign spokesman, Festus Keyamo, confirmed his return in a Twitter post.
Keyamo posted a video of Tinubu alighting from a plane and wrote: “The Eagle has landed”.
The last time Tinubu was seen attending a public event physically was September 22, when he met with members of the Pentecostal bishops’ forum in Abuja.
