Updated: Two white among passengers aboard crashed Lagos helicopter

Two white men and two crew men were aboard the helicopter which crashed into a building Tuesday on Oba Akran Road, Ikeja, Lagos.

Territorial Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed this to newsmen in Lagos.

He also said emergency responders had rescued two persons from the helicopter.

The helicopter, which was headed for the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), crashed near the AP Filling Station and United Bank For Africa on Oba Akran Road.

Witnesses said the chopper was flying low when it crashed.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.

Those rescued believed to be pilots were reportedly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

They were said to have sustained severe injuries.

Farinloye said he would give details about likely casualties later.
