The United States Mission in Nigeria has announced the launch of free online English-language courses designed to help Nigerians strengthen professional skills and expand career opportunities. The initiative was revealed via the mission’s official X platform as part of ongoing efforts to support learners seeking long-term professional growth.
The courses are delivered through the U.S. Department of State’s Online Professional English Network (OPEN) programme, enabling participants to study at their own pace while engaging with a global community of learners and improving communication abilities for high-demand fields.
Enrollment for the current cycle opened on January 5, 2026, and will remain available until March 23, 2026, with classes scheduled to run through March 30, 2026. The initiative targets individuals looking to enhance workplace communication and professional competence without financial barriers.
