US Offers $10M Reward for Info on Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei

The United States Department of State has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the identification, location, or arrest of several senior Iranian officials, including the country’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. The offer is part of the U.S. Rewards for Justice Program, which targets individuals linked to terrorism and threats to U.S. national security.

According to the program, the listed officials are described as “Iranian terrorist leaders” who command and direct elements of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), accused of planning and executing terrorist activities globally. Those specifically named include Esmail Khatib, Iran’s minister of intelligence; Ali Asghar Hejazi, deputy chief of staff to the supreme leader; Yahya Rahim Safavi, senior military adviser; Eskandar Momeni, Iran’s interior minister; and Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council. Additional positions, such as the commander-in-chief of the IRGC and the head of the supreme leader’s military office, are also sought.

Individuals with information about these officials or IRGC networks can submit tips through secure channels, including encrypted messaging platforms and the Tor network. Informants providing credible information may qualify for the reward and potential relocation assistance.

The announcement comes amid rising tensions between the U.S., Israel, and Iran, following the death of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in February 2026 during early confrontations with U.S.-Israeli forces. His son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was named the new supreme leader by the Assembly of Experts on March 8, 2026. Since his appointment, the IRGC has pledged support, and Mojtaba Khamenei has vowed to retaliate against Iran’s adversaries until “justice for Iranian casualties” is achieved.

Experts say including a current supreme leader in a rewards listing is unprecedented and underscores U.S. concerns over Iran’s military and global influence. The move also highlights the strategic importance the U.S. places on disrupting IRGC command structures amid ongoing Middle East tensions.
