US Threatens to ‘Unleash Hell’ on Iran if Talks Fail
The United States has warned that President Donald Trump is prepared to “unleash hell” on Iran if ongoing talks fail to resolve the Middle East war, even as Washington insists that diplomatic engagement with Tehran continues.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Wednesday that discussions remain “productive” despite Iranian reports claiming a negative response to the US proposal. She clarified that some media coverage of the 15-point US plan—which reportedly includes demands for Iran to abandon its nuclear program and limit its ballistic missile capabilities—was “not entirely factual.” Leavitt emphasized that diplomacy remains a priority, but the United States is also ready to act militarily if Tehran refuses to negotiate on terms aligned with US objectives.
The warning comes as Trump reportedly accelerates “Operation Epic Fury,” a military campaign targeting Iranian forces and infrastructure. The operation has included strikes on Kharg Island, a key oil export hub, as well as other strategic sites across southern Iran. The White House said Trump is committed to achieving US military objectives while maintaining the option for further escalation if negotiations falter.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and other senior officials have rejected the US plan, insisting that any cessation of hostilities must respect Iran’s sovereignty and security interests. Tehran has warned that potential incursions on Iranian territory, particularly islands in the Persian Gulf, will be met with a decisive response. The Iranian government also criticized the US for attempting to impose unilateral conditions on peace, even as reports suggest indirect communication channels through Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt remain open.
Meanwhile, global concern continues to rise as the conflict disrupts shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical energy transit chokepoint. Analysts warn that any further escalation could have significant repercussions for global oil prices and regional security.
Trump’s previously scheduled trip to China to meet President Xi Jinping has been postponed by six weeks, with the White House citing the need for him to remain engaged in military operations. Leavitt reiterated that the US expects the combat phase to last four to six weeks, but stressed that negotiations with Iran are ongoing and remain part of the broader strategy.
As tensions mount, the White House has underscored that failure by Iran to accept US conditions would result in unprecedented military pressure. “President Trump does not bluff, and Iran should not miscalculate again,” Leavitt said, signaling the high stakes for both diplomacy and military operations.
