Veteran Nollywood actor Mr Ibu dies

Veteran Nollywood actor John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu, is dead.

This came less than 24 hours after the death of Quadri Oyebamiji aka Sisi Quadri, a Yoruba actor.

His death was announced on Saturday. He was aged 62.

Multiple sources close to the comedian said he died at Evercare Hospital, Lekki, Lagos.

President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas, posted a message on his Facebook page to confirm the death of Mr. Ibu

He wrote “Sad day for Actors Guild of Nigeria.

“Kate Henshaw lost her mother earlier today and Mr Ibu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years, Mr Don Single Nwuzor.

“I announce with (a) deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it.”

The actor had been battling health issues since October 2023 and had undergone multiple surgeries that led to the amputation of his leg.
