Victory Gbakara wins N100m Nigerian Idol Season 8 prize

 

Victory Gbakara on Sunday night won the Nigerian Idol music competition Season 8.

Gbakara received N100m prize as the overall winner of the contest.

His emergence as the winner was announced after his closed-off song, a performance of Blessed by Wizkid.

The show’s finale on Sunday, according to a report by Daily Trust, began with group performances from all the contestants alongside the judges.

D’banj, Simi and Obi Asika led the chorus of ‘Hall of Fame’, a 2014 song by the Star of Copenhagen, Switzerland.

The 2023 edition, hosted by IK Osakioduwa, premiered in April.

The live show was aired for 10 weeks, from April 23 to July 16.
