Vinicius Jr. apologises for El Clasico outburst after Substitution
Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr. has issued a public apology to his teammates, coach Xabi Alonso, and the club following his emotional reaction to being substituted during the recent El Clasico clash against Barcelona.
The Brazilian star, who played a pivotal role in Madrid’s 2-1 victory, was visibly frustrated after being taken off shortly after assisting the build-up to the winning goal. In a moment of anger, Vinicius left the pitch and headed straight to the locker room while the match was still ongoing—a move that drew widespread criticism from fans, pundits, and football analysts.
Addressing the incident in a statement posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, Vinicius expressed remorse for his actions.
