…urges Lagos members to be law abiding
President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Tajudeen Baruwa, has advised members of the union n Lagos to continue to maintain peace and be law abiding.
He said the group was working to resolve the crisis in the state and warned that the union would not hesitate to punish any member found engaging in any activity that could tarnish the image of the union.
The NURTW boss in a statement on Friday also called on law enforcement agencies to rise to the occasion and ensure that whoever caused problems in the state is brought to justice.
He stated that some members might want to capitalise on the situation in the union in Lagos to forment trouble.
Baruwa stated that the union under his leadership would not support thuggery and violent actions.
“I am a man of peace and I will not hesitate to deal with any members who try to cause confusion no matter how highly placed the person is. Nobody is above the law,” he said.
He stated that efforts were going on to restore normalcy in the Lagos State council.
He expressed the readiness of national secretariat of the union in Abuja to find solution to the problem.
