The Olubadan of Ibadan, Saliu Adetunji, has said he will support Bola Tinubu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to emerge as Nigeria’s President because he will make a good president.
He reportedly expressed the support should the former Lagos State governor announce his interest while receiving members of the Tinubu Vanguard in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Saturday.
Director-General of Tinubu Vanguard, Johnny Benjamin, made this known in a statement.
According to the statement, Olubadan described Tinubu as a “good man”, adding that he would consolidate on the progressive agenda of the APC and propel Nigeria to the path of economic prosperity and sustainable development.
The monarch was reported to have said, “Tinubu is a good man and I will do everything within my power to support his candidacy for the 2023 presidential poll.”
The director-general of Tinubu Vanguard said the members of the group visited the monarch to make him aware of their intention to deliver a Tinubu presidency in 2023 and to seek his blessing.
Benjamin said the group remained committed to ensuring that the Tinubu presidential mandate was actualised.
