JAMB-UTME Candidates
Why JAMB has not released rescheduled UTME result – Official
An official of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has explained why the board has not released the results of the rescheduled Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The board had planned to release the rescheduled UTME results on Wednesday, according to a memo sent to reporters. It was, however, postponed.
JAMB Spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, told PREMIUM TIMES on Thursday that the board has not decided yet the day to release the UTME.
However, a source who spoke to PREMIUM TIMES anonymously explained that the board had earlier reviewed the result and had invited experts to review it before it is released to the candidates.
The source said JAMB invited Boniface Nworgu, a professor of educational measurement and evaluation, to review the result before release.
Mr Nworgu, currently the Commissioner for Labour and Employment in Imo State, would arrive at the board headquarters and review the results today (Thursday), the source added.
JAMB Registrar Is-haq Oloyede had explained on Wednesday that Mr Nworgu had been a consultant for the board and had authored a book on assessment for the board. Mr Oloyede described Mr Nworgu as one of the best psychometricians on the African continent.
PREMIUM TIMES learned that Mr Nworgu’s review will follow the board’s chief examiner’s initial review of the results.
