Why married men should stay away from female besties – Rita Edochie
Seasoned actress Rita Edochie recently voiced her strong opinions on the dynamics of marriage, particularly around married men maintaining close friendships with exes or other female friends.
According to Edochie, a married man’s only female best friend should be his wife, emphasizing the importance of loyalty and focus within the marriage.
She argued that if a man values his friendship with his ex, he should have stayed with her rather than committing to a new relationship.
Additionally, Edochie sent a clear message to single women who position themselves as “besties” to married men, cautioning that such relationships might blur boundaries and could even be viewed as stepping into “side chick” territory.
Speaking in pidgin, she wrote on Instagram: “The next thing now una go begin tok second wife matter. As a married man, you are busy keeping female besties. Your ex for that matter, if I talk now una go say Ijele you dey worry. Imagine going back to your vomit, if you love and value your relationship with your ex a lot, why didn’t you end up with her?
