Gunmen stormed Mareri area of Gusau, capital of Zamfara State, on Friday, and kidnapped the wife and two daughters of a lecturer at the Federal College of Education (Technical).
They were also said to have carted away property from the residence of the lecturer identified as Dr Abdulrazak Muazu.
It is unclear if Muazu was at home when the invaders struck.
“The armed arrived at his residence at the wee hours of Friday. Nobody was killed during the attack but valuables worth thousands of Naira were carted away by the armed criminals.”

“They are yet to establish contact with any one as to demand ransom. But the incident has sent jitters down the spine of those in the area, with many of them planning to abandon their homes for safety,” a resident identified Aminu Muhammad told Daily Trust.
The spokesman of the state police command SP Muhammad Shehu could not be reached for comment at the time of filing this report.
The attack occurred 48 hours after a district head identified as Alhaji Umaru Bawan Allah was shot dead in an attack on Gada community in Maru local government area of Zamfara.
Daily Trust gathered that five other persons were killed in the attack.
