Hauwa Nuhu, wife of the embattled Managing Director of the First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Adam Nuru, has denied moving out of their matrimonial home to protest her husband alleged sex scandal with a former employee of the bank.
She also debunked a reported plan to file a divorce case to finally free her of the marriage to Nuhu.
Indeed, Hauwa said in a statement just published by Saturday Trust that she was solidly behind her husband in the trying times and that she had never contemplated leaving him.
Her husband was made to proceed on leave as FCMB MD to allow for an investigation into the alleged sex scandal.
Hauwa, in a statement, debunked the speculations that she left her husband, describing such reports as malicious and deliberate falsehood.
She stated, “I want to clarify for the avoidance of doubt that I am still very much with my husband. This fake news was published by an online newspaper in a calculated attempt to further demonise my beloved husband and a loving father.
“Let me reiterate that at no time did I contemplate leaving my matrimonial home or filing for divorce as no grounds exist for such.”
In the past report, her family sources were quoted as saying that Hauwa had not only moved out of Nuru’s house but also informed her lawyer to prepare divorce papers so she could quit the marriage.
One of the sources was quoted as saying, “I know she has moved out. This case is beyond Moyo or the late Tunde. His marriage is about to crash now. The wife and her family are really giving him problems. They are ready to deal with him. The Moyo stuff is part one; he is currently facing the second part with his wife.”
This is after her husband had embarked on a voluntary leave following the alleged paternity scandal.
Some Nigerians had petitioned the FCMB to strip Nuru of his position for allegedly ‘fathering’ two children with a married employee of the bank, named Moyo Thomas.
This was said to have ultimately caused the death of Moyo’s estranged husband, Tunde Thomas, from a heart attack after battling with depression.
Moyo has, however, denied the allegations that the FCMB MD is the father of her two children, insisting that her late husband remains their father.
