Wike ‘fingers’ Gov Fubara over burning down of Rivers Assembly complex
Former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has linked the recent burning down of Rivers State of Assembly Complex to Governor Sim Fubara.
Recall that there was an arson attack on the hallowed chambers of the state assembly weeks ago.
Speaking during a media chat on Friday, Wike, who is now the Federal Capital Territory minister, insinuated that the burning of the assembly might be connected to Fubara following the plot by some lawmakers to impeach him.
“When they were about impeaching you, did you call me to say ‘Sir, they want to impeach me’?

“Is that why you sent people to go and burn down the hallowed chamber? Is the impeachment for only one day?
“Is the impeachment process a one-day affair? Then you raised ethnic politics. We’ve never had it like this before…”, Wike said.
Recall that the rift among members of the Rivers State House of Assembly had led to some lawmakers commencing impeachment proceedings against Governor Fubara.
Edison Ehie, Leader of the State House of Assembly had reportedly rejected the bid to impeach the Governor, having not committed any impeachable offence and was removed as the majority Leader.
However, Edison has now been elected the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly as Governor Fubara fought vehemently to keep his authority over matters of the state.
