Wike hints PDP crisis worsening, says something will happen soon

The Crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may not be over yet as Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State says nobody can threaten him.

Although the governor did not disclose where  the threat was coming from, he boasted on Monday that something would soon happen to show everyone that he remained unshaken.

He spoke during the flag-off of Eneka Internal Roads in the Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

He stressed that he would do what he considered right no matter the “gang up” or blackmail.

The PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and Governor Wike have been at loggerheads since the presidential primaries of the party.

Wike was defeated by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, but the crisis escalated after Atiku chose Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State as his running mate in the 2023 elections.

Atiku last week met with Wike in London where it was expected the rift between them would be resolved.

Speaking during the flag-off of the roads, Wike said, “Anybody who knows me knows that once I have made up my mind and I believe that what I am doing is right, if you like, let the whole people team up, as far as my conscience is clear, I will do what is right at all times; It doesn’t matter any gang up.

“All of us should be calm; you’ve heard what is happening in the PDP. Nothing has happened yet but by the grace of God; something will happen.”
