Abuja International Conference Centre
Wike replies critics of Tinubu Conference Centre, says it generates N650m in 3 weeks
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, said those criticising the N39bn spent on renovating the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre are now “embarrassed by the facts,” following the facility’s recent revenue surge.
Speaking during a media chat on Thursday in Abuja, Wike revealed that the newly unveiled Centre has already generated N650m in just three weeks, a leap from the N50m it used to generate annually before the renovation.
“The same people shouting N39bn are now quiet. In three weeks alone, we’ve made N650m. How much did we make before? N50m in one year. So you can see they’re now embarrassed by the facts,” Wike said.
The minister insisted that the returns on the investment speak louder than the criticisms that followed the project’s cost.

According to him, the renovated facility, which was previously known as the Abuja International Conference Centre (AICC), is now fully booked until 2027.
Wike maintained that the numbers now speak for themselves, “The problem with most people is that they talk without facts. When the facts come out, they go silent.”
“People have rushed to book the Centre. We’re sold out till 2027,” the minister had said, adding that the transformation has not only restored the facility’s relevance but also positioned it as a top-tier event destination in the capital.
The FCT Administration renamed the facility after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in May following its completion, a move that sparked reaction along with the cost of renovation.
