Woman collapses, dies during church testimony in Lagos
A 55-year-old woman, identified only as Ifeoma, tragically passed away after collapsing while sharing her testimony during a Sunday service at the Ministry Church in Ejigbo, Lagos State.
The incident occurred around 8:48 a.m. on September 8, 2024, and the woman was pronounced dead shortly after being rushed to a hospital.
According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Ifeoma had gone to the front of the church to sing songs of gratitude and share her testimony when she suddenly collapsed.
Church members immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she was later referred to the General Hospital in Isolo, where medical personnel confirmed her death.

Hundeyin explained, “The zonal accountant of the church reported the incident to the police. During the testimony hour, Ifeoma collapsed while singing. She was taken to the hospital, but unfortunately, she didn’t survive. Her family has already taken her body to Anambra State for burial.”
This incident is not the first tragedy of its kind in Lagos this year. In May 2024, a 30-year-old man reportedly drowned while visiting Elegushi Beach for prayer.
The sudden death of Ifeoma has left her family and the church community in shock, as they mourn the loss of a devoted member who passed away while giving thanks.
