Yobe deputy gov 10-year-old grandson dies after hot water accident
The Deputy Governor of Yobe State, Hon Idi Barde Gubana has lost his 10-year-old grandson, Lawan Idris Ahmad, in a domestic incident.
The Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Hussaini, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, said late Ahmad sustained a third degree burn after he accidentally poured hot water on his body and was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
The deceased succumbed to his injuries at the University Teaching Hospital Damaturu in the early hours of Tuesday.
The funeral prayer was held on Tuesday at the residence of the Deputy Governor led by the Chief Imam of Yobe mosque and Islamic Center Damaturu, Ustas Hudu Mohammed Yusuf.

In attendance were some members of the state House of assembly, Secretary to the State Government, Head of Civil Service.
Also in attendance were Emirs of Bade, Damaturu and Jajere respectively.
Others include some Commissioners, special advisers, permanent secretaries, chief executives of boards and parastatals, local government chairmen and thousands of sympathisers as well as the representatives wins traditional rulers.
The special adviser to Deputy Governor on religious affairs, Ustas Babagana Mallan kyari and chief Imam Hudu offered prayers for Allah to Grant him jannatul firdausi.
