Prof. Muhammad Ayinla Omolaja, National Chairman of the National Liberation Patriots (NLP) and a 2027 presidential aspirant, has urged Nigerians to embrace unity, love, religious tolerance and national rebirth as the country enters the New Year 2026.
In his 2026 New Year message, made available to the media by Comrade Mojeed Olalekan Fetuga, Media Director of the Omolaja Campaigns Organisation, Prof. Omolaja congratulated Christians in Nigeria and across the world, describing the New Year as a period for reflection, forgiveness and renewed commitment to nation-building.
Omolaja, who is also the Ike Mba 1 of Africa, a Royal Prince of the Obe Ruling House of Ayetoro City, a member of the Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) and President of the Yoruba Elders’ Union (YEU), said the year 2026 should mark a turning point for Nigeria.
He disclosed that the National Liberation Patriots (NLP) recorded major achievements in 2025, growing to over 12,000 members nationwide, with increasing influence across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). According to him, the movement is committed to building a broad-based political family open to all Nigerians aged 18 and above, regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender or political affiliation.
“The best manifestation of our accomplishments in 2025 was our renewed resolve to build a modern, rebranded Nigeria anchored on brotherliness, patriotism and nationalism,” Omolaja said.

He called on Nigerians in 2026 to forgive one another, promote peace and reject violence, warning that insecurity, war and intolerance destroy nations economically, politically and socially. Quoting Proverbs 14:30, he stressed that peace of mind and harmony are critical to national development.
Omolaja further advocated the Golden Rule as Nigeria’s guiding principle in 2026, noting that all major religions preach similar values of mutual respect, love and fairness.
Looking ahead, the NLP leader expressed optimism that dialogue, negotiation and coalition-building would intensify in the coming year, adding that collective sacrifice and shared responsibility would move Nigeria closer to its dream of renewal and prosperity.
He also outlined ten cardinal principles for success in 2026, urging Nigerians to learn from the past, embrace discipline, seize new opportunities and work towards a better future.
The presidential hopeful expressed gratitude to NLP members at home and in the diaspora, as well as leaders of other political parties, including the PRP, AA, ADP, NRM, YPP, LP and others, stating that he looked forward to forming a broad coalition ahead of the 2027 general election to “liberate Nigeria and rescue citizens from hardship.”
Concluding, Prof. Muhammad Omolaja wished Nigerians 12 months of success, peace, joy and prosperity, praying for sound health, unity and progress throughout 2026.
