27-year-old Anambra man attempts suicide over N1.2m debt
The Anambra State Police Command has rescued a man from an attempted suicide in Umunnachi community, Dunukofia Local Government Area of the state.
Alozie John, a 27-year-old livestock dealer from Isielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, reportedly tried to take his own life due to overwhelming debt. He allegedly owed his supplier N1.2 million for livestock products, which drove him to desperation.
In a statement on Saturday, Anambra State Police spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, revealed that John’s life was saved after officers intercepted his WhatsApp conversation.
