ADC Chairman’s Daughter Joins Pro-Tinubu Campaign Organisation
Blessing Onuh, a member of the House of Representatives representing Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency of Benue State, has been appointed as the National Woman Leader of the Take Action Campaign Organisation, a pro-re-election group supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Onuh is the daughter of former Senate President, David Mark, who currently serves as the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Her appointment was formally announced in Abuja by the Director General of the campaign organisation, Tony Nwulu, during a brief ceremony at the group’s national office.
Speaking after receiving her appointment letter, Onuh expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to mobilise women across the country in support of President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“I am committed to working tirelessly with other stakeholders to ensure victory for President Tinubu in the forthcoming election,” she said, while also aligning herself with the administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” which focuses on economic reforms, infrastructure development, and social welfare programmes.
The Take Action Campaign Organisation is one of several political support groups advocating for Tinubu’s second term, with a mandate to highlight the administration’s achievements and galvanise grassroots support nationwide.
Onuh’s acceptance of the role has, however, drawn attention due to her family’s political background. Her father, David Mark, is a prominent figure within the ADC, a party considered part of Nigeria’s opposition bloc. Recent developments within the party have seen internal debates over leadership direction and political alignment ahead of future elections.
Political analysts say her involvement in a pro-Tinubu campaign group may further intensify scrutiny on David Mark’s leadership position within the ADC, especially at a time when opposition parties are working to consolidate their ranks.
Despite the emerging political undertones, Onuh maintained that her focus remains on national development and supporting policies she believes will benefit Nigerians.
The coming months are expected to reveal how her new role may shape both intra-party dynamics within the ADC and broader political alignments ahead of the next general election cycle.
