APC Chieftain Joe Igbokwe calls for dismissal of soldier who clashed with Wike
All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Joe Igbokwe has called for the immediate dismissal of a soldier who clashed with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, during an inspection tour in Abuja.
According to reports, the soldier claimed he was acting on orders and refused to grant Wike entry, leading to a heated exchange between both parties. The incident has stirred debate about the limits of military authority and the relationship between civilian officials and security operatives during enforcement activities in the capital.

Reacting via a post on his Facebook page, Igbokwe condemned the officer’s conduct, describing it as an act of gross insubordination and a challenge to constituted authority.
He identified the officer as Lt. Yarima, accusing him of disrespecting the office of the FCT Minister.
“This young man challenged FCT 001, His Excellency Nyesom Wike. The young officer has no respect for constituted authority. His uniform should be removed as soon as possible,” he added.
The viral altercation has drawn mixed reactions from Nigerians, with some backing Wike’s position as the chief executive of the FCT, while others argue that the soldier may have been following superior orders.
As of press time, the Nigerian Army and the FCTA had yet to issue official statements on the incident.
