Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressive Party is leading the Ondo governorship election conducted in the state on Saturday with a margin of 68,211 votes going by the results of 12 local governments already declared by the poll umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission.
There are 18 local governments in the state. Results from the six remaining LGAs are expected to be announced as from 9am when the INEC returning officer and other members of the electoral team and party agents reconvene at the state collation centre in Akure.
Details of the results so far announced showed that Akeredolu polled 161,667; Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party scored 93,456; while, the Zenith Labour Party’s candidate, Agboola Ajayi got 29,824 votes.
